Isaiah 51:10 Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over? Oftentimes we forget who God is and what He has done; we approach him as someone who isn't all powerful and all knowing. The Old Testament prophets and psalmists continually reminded the people of what God had done for them. By considering the wonderful works of God in years past and the fact that He promises to continue those great works for us in the present and future is a great promise to hold onto and meditate on. Not only has God shown his powerful hand in the lives of those in the Old Testament, in the exodus from Egypt, the parting of the sea, fighting for Israel and making them prosper. He has shown his powerful hand to us, by sending His son to die on the cross for our sin, in our place. We have been justified through Christ, we are being sanctified and will be glorified. God promises to preserve us, to keep us, and nothing can separate us from Him and His love. He has freed us from the bondage of sin, made us a new creature and adopted us as one of His own children will full access to the God who created the universe. Oh what God has done for us! |
