Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Going out door to door and place to place sharing the gospel of Christ is a great privilege. Blessed are those who go and spread the good news in the name of the Lord. I must admit that the first few times can be a bit intimidating, but upon meditating on the word of God, equipping yourself with the truths in God's word the task no longer becomes a burden, but rather a joy. We are ambassadors of Christ (2Co 5:20), we are told to go and make disciples (Mt 28:19, Mr 16:15). This may seem like a burden to some, something that others should do. Excuses like "I'm too busy", or "I'm not prepared", or "I don't know what to say", or "I wouldn't be good at that" are very common. However, by asking God through prayer and studying His word gives us strength to be able to overcome our human weakness. Meditating on His love compels us to serve Him and tell others about Him. Do you really believe that Christ died on the cross to take away your sin? How can you contain yourself then? How can you not warn those who do not have Christ that there is no salvation in any other! (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). People are going to hell, people NEED the gospel! How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good tidings, who bring the good news of a risen Christ and His power to save. |
