Isaiah 57:21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked. What a grave statement, but what truth it holds. There is no peace in this life nor the next for the wicked. They have no hope, everything apart from God is vanity. How ignorant are they? They can build houses, buy cars, clothes, electronics, toys, and attempt to fill all their desires, but for what? To what end? We all die. Most today would say they are living for their family; let's follow that through. You get a good education, get a good job, provide for your family and pass away at an old age. Your children do the same, as do their children, as did your parents before you. What is the point? You've done what someone did thousands of years ago and a thousand years from now you'll be long forgotten. A life apart from God is a life in vain. What are we living for then? We live a life to glorify our Creator, to believe and trust the work of Christ and long to know Him more. We have an eternal reward, an inheritance far more precious then our current life now. We have peace knowing that one day we will be with the Lord. We have hope that God will eternally be with us showing us His tender mercies. There is no peace for the wicked, there is no hope for sinners apart from God. BUT there can be hope! Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." While we were sinners Christ died for us, and if we call upon the name of the Lord we shall be saved! Christ is willing and waiting. Will you go to Him? Will you receive peace and hope for a glorious future serving our wonderful God? |
