Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Oh how God wants to show Himself to us.  He is mighty, His hand is powerful and can work many wonders, just look at creation at the splendor created by the hand of our God.  God can save, He can deliver us not only from hell but from our daily trials and afflictions.

Are you calling on God to save you?  To deliver you and meet your needs that He may be glorified?  Are you calling on God to show that our God is THE God and is alive and is powerful?

If you are calling on God, are your motives selfish?  Will God be glorified or will you just get what you desire?  Is your desire to magnify God?

If you are calling on God, is sin in the way?  If we have iniquity in our hearts, God will not hear us.  He chooses to let us flounder until we humble ourselves, confess our sin and be reconciled.

Let us be reconciled to God, and make our requests made known to Him, requests that will glorify and demonstrate the power of God when He answers.  Christ promises that if we ask anything in His name, it will be given to us (Joh 14:13-14).  What a testimony we can be if we rely on God and regard not iniquity in our heart.

May God be glorified in and by our prayers.
