Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Philippians 2:5-8 "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."

We have a clear presentation here of the deity of Jesus.  We're told that Christ pre-existed in the form (NASB/ESV/NKJV) or the very nature (NIV) of God.  Jesus existed before (cf John 17:5) taking the form of a bond-servant, taking on humanity and humbling Himself was obedient to death on a cross.   Confirming that His death on the cross was the very reason He came in the likeness of men.  This passage conveys that He truly was without sin, and was that perfect lamb of God.
