Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Philippians 1:9-10 "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ"

Love is not antithetical or separated from knowledge like some might presuppose.  Growing in real knowledge does not make one stuffy and unloving.  A true knowledge of God should make us loving!  May this verse encourage us to grow in real knowledge and discernment which will cause us to love God and others.  In Ephesians 3:17-19 Paul says something similar, by pursuing the knowledge of the love of Christ, we are filled with the fullness of God.

Having a problem loving people like you know you should?  Study more about who God is; cut out useless knowledge, grow in real knowledge.
