Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

We've highlighted some of Pauls exhortations to be united, considering others, walking worthy of the gospel.  But we must remember that this is not done on our own strength, far from it.  It is God who is at work through the power of the gospel, the power of the cross has broken the bondage to sin.  It is only through Christ that we can accomplish these things.

Philippians 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."

Philippians 1:11 "... having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."

Philippians 2:13 "for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me."

We must keep in mind that we do not put confidence in our own strength, in our own flesh.

Philippians 3:3 "for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh"
