Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Philippians 1:3-4 "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all"

When "prayer" is mentioned, feelings of guilty quickly come as we all feel a conviction that we do not pray enough.

First, do you pray?  At all?  If you don't then you need to examine yourself to see if you are truly in the faith.  And second, do you pray with joy?  Or is it a chore and something you must force yourself to do?

We can have joy in prayer by realizing that if we are true believers, then Jesus Christ is working in us and through the gospel to do wonderful things. (vs 5-6)
