It is the end of the month, marking the end to the daily reading of the book of Philippians. I really enjoyed getting to know this book, how Paul encourages the believers in Philippi from prison in Rome. He focuses on how the Lord Jesus Christ and the gospel are at the very center of Christian belief and conduct. We receive our ability through Christ, we receive our example from Christ, and we look forward to the day of Christ when we shall be like Christ. Along with this core, issues such as worthy conduct, growing in knowledge and discernment of truth, and striving together with unity of mind are all discussed. These issues are always mentioned with a reminder that it is the Lord who is our strength, and through a renewing of our mind, through prayer and through thinking on pure and excellent things of God we can live a life worthy of the gospel. This is done in an effort to build up believers and also to spread the good news of Christ so that others might be saved. It's a longing and striving for the goal, the return of Christ and the redemption of our bodies as we are raised in newness of life with our Lord and our God. Philippians 4:19-23 "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit."
