Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Romans 1:1 "Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God"

I love the label "bond-servant of Christ Jesus ... set apart for the gospel of God".  This too is our calling as followers of Jesus Christ.  We have been bought with the price of His blood and are no longer slaves to sin, but have become slaves to Christ.  We serve Christ and are set apart for the gospel.  Set apart by God's working within us and set apart to go and proclaim this good news of Jesus Christ, "which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord" (vs 2-4)
