Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Mercy Leading to Repentance PDF Print E-mail

Romans 2:4 "Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?"

Have you ever considered that sorrow and brokeness over sin is out of kindness on God's part?  Godly sorrow brings repentance (2 Corinthian 7:10).  It is an act of mercy and grace for God to open our eyes to our sinful condition and draw us to Himself so that we repent from our wickedness and cast ourselves on Him for salvation.  Let us not think lightly of the conviction that God grants us, it is a gift and is merciful so that we do not suffer His wrath.
