Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."

So how has God's divine nature been clearly seen?  First, divine means "Having the nature of or being a deity."  And what are some attributes of creation that witness of a diety?  For one thing, the origins of the universe cannot be explained without a cause.  The common scientific explaination about the origins of the universe start with the Big Bang, which necessitates a beginning, which necessitates a cause.  Something cannot be produced from nothing, an attribute of divinity is that of eternality.  God has always existed and never changes.  This is evident in Scripture and is also a necessary conclusion using sound reasoning.  God, the uncaused cause created the universe.

Scientific fact and sound reasoning point to a divine nature, a God, that is understood by what has been made!
