Welcome to my Daily Reading Blog.  Currently I'm doing a daily reading with a number of other men from our church where we read through a book of the Bible every day for a month.

Each of my daily posts consist of a thought or a verse that I found noteworthy from my reading.

During the month of August we are reading Romans chapters 13 to 16 once a day.

Romans 6:16 "you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness"

The death of Christ for a Christian frees them from the bondage of sin.  Here we read that we are slaves to the one whom we obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness.  What does the pattern of our life reveal about who we are in bondage too?  Are we living a life that demonstrates the obedience of faith (Romans 1:5) or can we not say no to sin and remain in bondage to this world.  Paul warns that if you are enslaved to sin, the result is death; for the wages of sin is death.  Whom do you serve?
